Belief Systems
Not too long ago I was having a discussion about world events with an acquaintance. During the discussion God was brought up. The gist of the conversation came around to; "I believe in God, but I don't accept the idea of absolute evil in this world.". {The Beast}
I went tilt like a slammed pinball machine unable to overcome that idea. My reasoning will not allow me to accept that if there is an absolute good, that there isn't an absolute evil. I look around this big world of ours and I see dirt, water, plants, flowers, trees and all manner of animals, fish, insects and fowl and I know that these forms of life are not evil or destroyers of the ecosystem. They live in a fragile balance with each other rarely killing their own species except for immediate survival.
Man, on the other hand knows no boundaries except those which he personally uses to limit his behavior. Man can and does destroy his own kind and surroundings for pay, for fun, out of ignorance and usually not for survival.
Man can murder, rape, commit infanticide, war, torture, exploit, rob, maim, lie, cheat and destroy. This unless I miss my bet is absolute evil. The wrong application of thoughts, education and expression.
Man can also create, design, help, love, trust, build and enable others to do the same. Man can live by consideration of nature and other humans creating understanding instead of pain and mistrust.
Man has choice.
I look at our economic events and politicians, our industrialists, our drug companies and society at large that goes through life accepting roles that are obvious that consideration is never given to the ultimate outcome of the actions taking place. The national deficit, our wars, our never ending want of the material and shunning of the spiritual that gets in the way of responsible behavior.
That's the thought I wanted to land on. Man's choice of beliefs defines him absolutely by his actions and his words. When words don't match actions hypocrisy becomes as one with the individual. The hypocrite is the worst sort of human.
The Meaning of the word Christian
It is my belief that if one believes in God and Christ that one believes in the assumption of absolute good. The God-Christ-Holy Spirit entity cannot have meaning as absolute anything without a comparison counterpart. There can be No Good if there is No Evil. There can be No Angels unless there are Demons. Certainly there would be No Resurrection without The Execution of Jesus. As well, there can be No God The Father without Satan The Beast.
But why do many people call themselves believers when they only believe a half truth? How can a person decide what good is without knowing clearly what evil is? How?
If Genesis exists then Revelations exists. If God created the earth then it will be God that decides the ultimate fate of mankind and I suggest that those half believers get over it. If belief exists, or the ability to believe exists, then the ability to disbelieve and half believe exists. The half believer is a danger to him or herself. I don't think half belief carries a person to the gates of Heaven. I believe it delivers a person to the gates of Hell.
Why does man fear absolutes?
There are only two absolutes that I know of. Absolute good in the being of God and absolute evil in the being of Satan {the Beast}. Blessing and Sin are related. People who recognize their own sinful nature and seek not only forgiveness for their sins, but the strength to turn away from behavior that God disapproves of are blessed on this earth.
Likewise, people who do not accept their own sinful nature as something that needs to be looked at, understood, forgiven and worked on daily will never know blessing because they do not understand blessings. They are blind and cannot see. They can feel alright. But they cannot feel fully both sides of their personal being simply because they are ignoring one side of themselves. Ignorance is not bliss. It is stupidity.
As well, if you give to get you will never know peace and harmony in your life. And again, you deliver yourself to the gates of Hell.
Example, this site is my expression of what I have learned in life about myself, The Beast and God. I claim it so that people with questions can ask questions to a real person or hold me responsible for it's contents. Most of the people that read this site probably dislike my views because I stand firm on my beliefs. As of this writing 05/26/2003 this site has made $7 total. Seven bucks. It took me hundreds of hours to put this site together. I've spent a pretty penny on learning web technologies to even create this site. Then software and programming etc. I've poured my guts into this site and my education as well. I've paid for hosting for over five years. For $7 total?
I know with absolute accuracy that this site has saved lives and in some cases, who's life. I know this site is used by students and business's. I know that my peers respect this work. I know a lot.
For $7 total-5 years-Most would say that's stupid! But there are many Addiction sites on the Internet that were put up with no personal profit in mind and many sites dedicated to a variety of subjects aimed at educating others and helping others. I think our world is conditioned to think no one cares or is willing to bust a move to give others a leg up without some sort of personal gain and that my friend is sad in a Christian nation.
My motivation is to bring a message to people. To help those who need answers. To be me. To count for something and stand for something rather than count for nothing and stand for everything. As penance for living a miserable addicted self-absorbed life for a couple of decades. For knowingly hurting others and not caring.
I don't believe that this exercise even scratches the surface of what I owe God and this world. I am in debt to God. Deep debt. A debt that will never be repaid in my way of thinking. God forgives me for sure. But I feel I owe you and others.
I feel it is and always will be a deep and horrific sin to withhold help from people simply because you'd rather be somewhere else, do something else or spend your resources elsewhere. People are important. Beliefs should be demonstrated. And thoughts and words should be demonstrated to give meaning to them. Everything else is simply bogus.
So I ask you. Why do you believe what you believe?
"Read 2 Kings 20:20 and 2 Chronicles 32:30 in the Old Testament and you'll find a reference to a tunnel that was built in 700 B.C. by order of King Hezekiah to protect Jerusalem's water supply against an Assyrian siege. Long considered an engineering feat for that day and age, the serpentine tunnel ran 1,750 feet long and moved water from the Gihon spring across the entire city of ancient Jerusalem to the pool of Siloam."

"In modern-day Jerusalem. The Siloam Tunnel in that city matches the biblical description of King Hezekiah's tunnel. But is it really the same one? That question has stumped scholars for years, many of whom insisted the Siloam Tunnel was built centuries later than the Bible suggested in Kings and Chronicles. The only clue that survived for more than 2,700 years is an inscription discovered in 1880 on a tunnel wall that supported the link to King Hezekiah, although it did not name him specifically, reports The Associated Press. Now geologists from the Cave Research Center at Hebrew University in Jerusalem think they have solved the mystery. By using radiocarbon testing to analyze the age of stalactite samples from the ceiling of the Siloam Tunnel and plant material recovered from its plaster floor, the biblical record and the tunnel's age have been confirmed, the researchers wrote in the journal Nature. The Siloam Tunnel is the one built by King Hezekiah."

"This is also significant because it is the first time that a well-identified biblical structure has been subjected to extensive radiocarbon dating. Even with all our modern-day technology and scientific knowledge, very little testing of biblical structures has been done to prove or disprove their age or authenticity. Why? The experts told AP such testing is difficult because it's often hard to identify such structures, they may be poorly preserved, or they may be restricted for various political or religious reasons."
